Apartments

Moscow STAR apartments are typically equipped with a private safe, SAT-TV with Kosmos TV (Elite Package), a DVD player, a stereo with CD player, an answering machine, air-conditioning, new beds with imported, 100% Egyptian Cotton linens, a microwave, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer, a clock radio, smoke detector, a coffee maker, an electric teapot, an optional PC with Hi-Speed Internet access and, in some cases, a clothes dryer and a dishwasher. Electrical converter plugs are available for loan upon request. Optional Traveling with Children Packages and mobile telephone rentals are available, if desired. Long-Term Rental Package

Moscow STAR offers a Long-Term Rental Package, which allows the Moscow expatriate the opportunity to focus on their job instead of searching for and maintaining a high-quality, Western-style apartment in a difficult environment (i.e. locating/negotiating a lease, working with a Russian landlord, paying recurring monthly bills and rent payments). The Long-Term Rental Package offers the ease and convenience of having Moscow STAR…

• Locate your apartment.
• Negotiate the lease in the name of our Russian company.· Interface with the Russian landlord as needed throughout the lease.
• Outfit the apartment to meet rigid MSP standards, including SAT-TV, Hi-Speed Internet, safes, high-quality linen, etc.
• Provide cleaning services as you require.
• Provide handyman services to maintain the apartment as required.
• Handle ALL utility bills to ensure prompt payment with no interruption of service.

At the same time, you have the flexibility to walk away from your housing commitments with only 30-days notice. Specific information is available on the Long-Term Rentals page or you may contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Deposit

There’s no need to waste money sending a deposit by Western Union. As a convenience, you may either mail a cashier’s check or money order directly to our American office for the deposit and/or pre-pay the full amount of your apartment and optional services or, if you live in one of 23 states with a Wells Fargo Bank branch, you may make a deposit directly into the Moscow STAR checking account. OR, you may make your deposit with a major credit card, Visa/MasterCard/American Express.

Arrival

Upon arrival, you're given a detailed orientation tour of the apartment, including your personal safe, answering machine, SAT-TV (Kosmos TV-Elite package) and DVD player, and all appliances. You'll find that your apartment is even stocked with an up-to-date Moscow STAR Welcome Package, which contains local travel essentials including Moscow guide books with restaurant and club guides, a bilingual (RU/ENG) telephone book, a street and metro map in Russian and English with local markets, money exchanges, cafes, restaurants, metro stations, other important spots nearby… even your personal copy of The Moscow Times. To help make your local transportation more convenient, you’re even provided with special laminated "TAXI CARDS", listing important locations with addresses in English and Russian, including your apartment address.

Easy Entry Package

Each apartment is stocked with instant coffee, tea, sugar, and salt/pepper. You also may choose to use the optional Pre-Arrival Shopping Service. With PASS, you have your choice of a wide variety of desired items which will be stocked in your apartment waiting for your arrival. To make your transition to Moscow as smooth as possible, if requested, we can even exchange some money for you and have a packet of Russian Rubles waiting for your arrival. This will ensure that your first evening will not be spent in the money exchange, market, or standing in line at the metro.

Each apartment even comes equipped with an English-Russian dictionary… Other languages are available upon request with your reservation.

Payment

FIVE PAYMENT OPTIONS:

• Pay balance upon arrival in cash (see Terms & Conditions for possible discount).

…OR, IF YOU PREFER TO TRAVEL WITH LESS CASH, YOU MAY PAY IN ADVANCE!

• Pay by mailing a cashier’s check or money order to our office in the USA.
• Pay with a Western Union cash transfer.
• Pay by depositing your payment directly into the Moscow STAR account at a local Wells Fargo Bank.
• Pay by major credit card, in advance or upon arrival.

Cleaning

Rates include cleaning once per week; including linen and towel change. However, you may choose to have daily or twice per week cleaning for a modest charge. We can even arrange for laundry and dry cleaning service for a modest charge.

 

Customer Service

Each guest is assigned an English-speaking “concierge” upon arrival to ensure that you receive seamless customer service throughout your stay. Your Moscow STAR concierge is available by telephone… 24/7! Of course, English is the first language at Moscow STAR, and every staff member speaks both English and Russian.

 

Local Knowledge

Moscow STAR owners and staff are intimately familiar with Moscow… With prior arrangement and schedules permitting, you may arrange a short “orientation tour” of the local area.

 

Air Conditioner

Every Moscow STAR apartment is equipped with air conditioning for your comfort during the occasional hot and muggy nights in Moscow.

 

Queen Size Bed

All beds are new and at least queen-sized, and are fitted with imported, 100% Egyptian Cotton linens. Every bed also comes with a full mattress cover and pad, which has been sanitized for your protection.

 

Internet Access

The telephone line in each apartment may be utilized for dial-up Internet access. You may have to purchase a local Internet Service Provider card and install it on your computer. Or, as an optional feature and a convenience for our guests, Hi-Speed internet access is available in each apartment. You may even choose to rent a personal computer for use while in Moscow. In addition, each Moscow STAR apartment is equipped with a laser printer for use during the stay.

 

Television

Each apartment is equipped with SAT-TV (KOSMOS TV’s Elite Package), which provides virtually all of the channels that are available in Moscow, including CNN, Sky News, CNBC, BBC, Bloomberg and many more, plus several 24/7 movie channels… all in English.

Traveling With Children

This special package is designed for those traveling with younger children. It includes a crib or bassinet with linens, a high-quality stroller, children’s books, and DVD's in Russian and English, which is especially nice for those parents traveling to Moscow for the challenging adoption process.

Security

All apartments have security or solid wood doors with multiple locks. Building entrances have either a full-time attendant or are keyed or coded to discourage unauthorized visitors. In addition, each apartment is fitted with a personal safe to store valuables in your apartment. . In addition, each apartment is equipped with at least one smoke detector!

Mobile Telephone

If you desire, you may rent a mobile telephone with a local Moscow number during your stay. If you pre-reserve the phone, you’ll be provided with your number before you depart. You may choose to use our mobile telephone or just the SIM card with your local number in your existing compatible GSM telephone.

As an overview, you may set up your personal International Calling plan BEFORE you depart for Russia.
